At KP Staffing, we want to connect candidates with companies and positions that have the potential for long-term success. That’s why we surveyed 2,600+ light industrial candidates to get the inside scoop on their job search habits, priorities, and what makes them stick with (or leave) an employer.
Who Took the Survey?
Survey respondents included light industrial job seekers working in roles such as production, forklift operation, assembly, and machine operation. More than half had previously worked with multiple staffing agencies, giving them a strong perspective on what they look for in both a long-term employer and the staffing agency that connects them.
A Few Takeaways for Employers
- Over 75% of candidates said stability or career growth is the most important factor when choosing an employer, showing that many are thinking beyond their next job.
- More than 90% said clear overtime expectations matter during the interview process, reinforcing the importance of upfront communication when overtime is part of the role.
- More than 60% of job seekers would seriously consider leaving a job for a pay increase, highlighting how competitive the market remains and how closely candidates compare opportunities.
- Over half of candidates said benefits play a major role in their commitment to a job, with health insurance, paid time off, and retirement options ranking among the most valued.
- When it comes to staffing agencies, over 70% of candidates said it’s very or extremely important that their staffing firm specializes in their type of work, underscoring the value of industry expertise.
