Assembler/Forklift
KP Staffing is now hiring assemblers/forklift operators for a manufacturing company in Gastonia, NC!
Company Overview
Located in Gastonia, they are a leading manufacturer and international distributor of home décor products, specializing in supplies and solutions for the professional drapery, upholstery, and design industries.
Duties
- Pick products and materials according to assigned orders and warehouse requirements.
- Process upholstery batting using vacuum equipment to compress material for packaging.
- Place compressed batting into designated bags or boxes.
- Replenish batting bins to maintain adequate inventory.
- Move finished batting products to designated warehouse or storage locations.
- Maintain accurate product placement and an organized work area.
- Safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment.
- Wear the required seat belt at all times while operating a forklift.
- Follow all forklift, pedestrian, warehouse, and safety procedures.
- Complete required in-house forklift certification and training.
- Report equipment issues, product concerns, inventory discrepancies, and safety hazards to a supervisor.
- Assist in the Assembly area as needed after batting and order-picking responsibilities are completed.
- Receive products delivered to the work area by a Material Handler.
- Apply shrink wrap according to established packaging specifications.
- Safely operate the heat tunnel for shrink-wrapped products.
- Inspect finished products to ensure proper packaging and quality.
- Label and date completed products accurately.
- Convert bulk master rolls into smaller finished products according to work instructions.
- Package converted products into the appropriate boxes.
- Verify packaging, quantities, labels, and dates before products move to the next stage.
- Operate machinery and packaging equipment safely and according to established procedures.
Qualifications
- Forklift operating experience required.
- Ability to safely operate warehouse and packaging equipment.
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to read, write, count, add, and perform basic calculations.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to transition between batting, order picking, warehouse, and assembly duties.
- Willingness to accept constructive feedback and ask for assistance when needed.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

1st: 8:30am-5:00pm
Pay
$16 per hour
