Certified Welding Inspector (1st Shift)
KP Staffing is now hiring Certified Welding Inspectors in Rhome, Texas!
Job Summary
The certified welding inspector will support by ensuring fabricated products meet required quality standards. This position is primarily responsible for visually inspecting poles and heavy structural steel assemblies for compliance with engineering drawings, AWS requirements, and AISC specifications.
Pay
$31.50 – $33.75 per hour
Shift
1st Shift: Monday – Friday
7:00 A.M. – 4:30 P.M.
Saturdays as needed
Duties
- Perform visual welding inspections on poles and heavy structural steel assemblies
- Verify compliance with detail drawings, welding requirements, and applicable AWS/AISC standards
- Review shop drawings and welding symbols
- Document inspection results and quality findings
- Work with other QA/QC inspectors to organize daily and weekly inspection priorities
- Identify nonconforming work and support corrective actions
- Maintain required quality documentation
- Support continuous improvement and manufacturing quality initiatives
- Follow all safety and quality procedures
Qualifications
- Current Certified Welding Inspector license required
- 3–5 years of experience welding heavy steel assemblies, preferably with inspection experience
- Strong ability to read and understand shop drawings and welding symbols
- Knowledge of AWS and AISC standards
- Level II certification in UT or MT preferred
- Fabrication experience required
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to work in a manufacturing/shop environment
- Ability to lift/carry up to 25 lbs.
- Must be able to pass required drug screening
