Certified Welding Inspector (1st Shift)
KP Staffing is now hiring a Certified Welding Inspector in Haltom City, Texas!
Job Summary
The certified welding inspector will support the QA/QC team by performing visual welding inspections on poles and heavy structural steel assemblies. This position is responsible for ensuring fabricated products meet detail drawings as well as applicable AWS and AISC requirements.
Pay
$31.50 – $33.75 per hour
Shift
Monday – Friday
5:00 A.M. – 3:30 P.M.
Saturdays as needed
Duties
- Perform visual welding inspections on poles and heavy structural steel assemblies
- Verify compliance with detail drawings, welding requirements, AWS, and AISC specifications
- Read and interpret shop drawings and welding symbols
- Document inspection results and quality findings
- Identify nonconforming welds and support corrective actions
- Work with the QA/QC team to maintain product quality standards
- Support required customer quality documentation
- Follow established safety and quality procedures
Qualifications
- Current Certified Welding Inspector license required
- 3–5 years of experience with heavy steel welding, preferably including inspection experience
- Ability to read shop drawings and welding symbols
- Fabrication experience required
- Level II certification in UT or MT preferred
- Knowledge of AWS D1.1 and AISC requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to lift/carry up to 25 lbs.
- Must be able to pass required drug screening
