KP Staffing is now hiring machine operators for a company that manufactures food in Houston, TX!
Job Summary
The machine operator will operate and maintain food production machinery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality output. This role also supports food preparation, sanitation, material handling, and production documentation in compliance with food safety standards.
Pay
$18- $21 per hour
Shift
1st shift: 6 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Duties
- Operate various food production machines with precision, following standard operating procedures and safety protocols
- Conduct routine mechanical troubleshooting and minor repairs to maintain optimal machine performance
- Ensure proper sanitation and cleanliness of equipment and work areas in compliance with HACCP, GMP, and other regulatory standards
- Handle raw materials and finished products safely using material handling equipment such as forklifts
- Assist in food preparation processes, including baking, cooking, and food handling tasks
- Monitor production quality, perform basic math calculations for measurements and portioning, and document production data accurately
- Follow personal protective equipment requirements and safety procedures during all phases of operation
- Support heavy lifting activities safely while maintaining compliance with safety standards in manufacturing environments
- Maintain compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to food safety management systems
- Collaborate with team members across shifts to ensure continuous production flow and adherence to manufacturing procedures
Qualifications
- Prior experience in food production or manufacturing environments is highly desirable
- Demonstrated knowledge of cooking techniques, sanitation practices, and food safety regulations such as HACCP and GMP
- Mechanical troubleshooting skills combined with familiarity with machine operation in a manufacturing setting
- Experience with material handling equipment operation including forklifts is preferred
- Basic math skills for measurements, portioning, and quality control calculations
- Kitchen or culinary experience that includes knife skills or food preparation expertise is advantageous
- Ability to communicate fluently in two languages to support diverse team interactions
- Knowledge of safety standards related to heavy lifting, manual handling, and personal protective equipment use within a manufacturing context
