Packer
Job Summary
The packer will pack molded production parts and support production operations through quality inspection, housekeeping, online sorting, and relief coverage as needed.
Pay
$17.04 per hour
Shift
1st shift: 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Duties
- Obtain packing supplies from the designated area at each machine according to packaging specifications
- Assemble boxes as required
- Pack production parts into boxes according to packing specifications
- Label boxes
- Move packed boxes through the tape machine
- Visually inspect parts for defects
- Escalate consistent quality defects or extended machine downtime to the machine operator or cell leader
- Perform line clearance during product changes
- Assist with sorting non-conforming and offline production parts as directed
- Complete line inspection forms throughout the shift
- Complete line clearance checklist forms during product changes
- Update production boards at each machine
- Keep the packing area, stacker, and surrounding area clean
- Secure scrap bags
- Weigh, record, and dispose of scrap products using the appropriate scrap sticker
- Relieve other packers for lunches, breaks, absenteeism, and unplanned allocation needs
- Follow safety, housekeeping, food safety, and workplace health standards
- Work respectfully and effectively as part of a team
Responsibilities
- Provide support to the molding cell leader as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 to 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Proven ability to deliver results
- Fluent in English with good verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others as part of a team
