Job Summary
The procurement specialist will source and purchase factory materials, primarily steel and fabrication inputs, to support operations and help ensure materials are available at the right price, quality, and delivery timeline. This role will coordinate with internal teams and suppliers to align purchasing with production and project requirements.
Pay
$85,000 – $105,000 per year

Duties
- Source, negotiate, and purchase factory materials with a primary focus on steel and fabrication inputs
- Obtain and compare quotes, negotiate pricing and terms, and issue purchase orders
- Develop and manage relationships with reliable U.S. suppliers and vendors
- Monitor lead times, delivery schedules, and material availability to prevent production delays
- Coordinate with production, engineering, and quality teams to align purchasing with project requirements and specifications
- Track inventory levels and reorder points in coordination with operations
- Ensure purchased materials meet quality specifications and required certifications
- Maintain accurate procurement records, pricing history, and supplier documentation
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and support budget adherence
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and applicable regulations
Qualifications
- 3+ years of procurement or purchasing experience, ideally in manufacturing, fabrication, steel, or construction
- Working knowledge of steel and fabrication materials, grades, and specifications
- Strong negotiation, vendor-management, and cost-analysis skills
- Experience with purchase orders, ERP/MRP systems, and inventory coordination
- Understanding of U.S. supplier landscape, freight/logistics, and lead-time management
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
