Job Summary
The Refrigeration service technician will install, diagnose, repair, and maintain industrial refrigeration and HVAC systems in commercial and industrial settings. This role includes troubleshooting equipment, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring systems operate safely and effectively.
Pay
$30- $35 per hour
Shift
1st shift: 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. or 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., on call
Duties
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and diagnose issues in refrigeration systems
- Perform routine maintenance on refrigeration equipment
- Install new refrigeration systems according to design specifications
- Repair or replace defective components in refrigeration systems
- Test system functionality and ensure proper operation
- Comply with safety standards and protocols during all work activities
- Diagnose issues with refrigeration systems, HVAC units, boilers, and related mechanical equipment using schematics, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools
- Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of refrigeration equipment including ammonia refrigeration systems and air conditioning units
- Read and interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design documents to troubleshoot complex systems effectively
- Conduct field service visits for equipment troubleshooting and repair
- Utilize welding skills and mechanical knowledge to repair or replace damaged components and ensure system integrity
- Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and safety documentation for each job performed
- Assist with plumbing connections and modifications for refrigeration or HVAC installations
Qualifications
- Prior experience in industrial refrigeration
- Familiarity with temperature pressure charts is a plus
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Proficiency in using tools such as ohmmeters for electrical testing
- Strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues efficiently
- Hands-on experience with construction projects involving HVAC system installation or property maintenance
- Familiarity with schematics, technical manuals, and HVAC design principles to accurately diagnose issues
- Mechanical knowledge of boilers, pumps, compressors, welders, and other related equipment
- Experience working with ammonia refrigeration systems is highly desirable
- Ability to operate diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters effectively in troubleshooting scenarios
