Job Summary

The driver helper will assist the driver with loading, unloading, and delivering lumber, millwork, windows, and other building materials while following established safety procedures and providing excellent customer service.

Pay

$16 – $17 per hour

Duties

• Safely and efficiently load and unload building materials onto delivery trucks and at job sites

• Assist the driver with unloading materials safely at customer locations

• Act as a spotter while the driver is reversing or navigating congested areas

• Assist with housekeeping and maintaining truck cleanliness

• Secure loads and assist the driver in securing loads before delivery

• Evaluate job sites for potential hazards before making deliveries

• Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures

• Communicate with customers to ensure quality customer service

• Maintain open communication regarding location challenges, solutions, and business impacts

• Perform other duties as assigned

• Travel locally as required

• Work in varying weather conditions and temperatures

• Regularly lift up to 100 lbs. with assistance and spend extended periods stooping, reaching, bending, climbing, standing, or walking

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required

• Warehouse or material handling experience preferred

• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs. repetitively

• Good oral communication skills
