KP Staffing Duncanville is now hiring equipment techs for a company that manufactures solar modules in Wilmer, TX!

Job Summary

The equipment tech will maintain, troubleshoot, and improve automated manufacturing equipment used in the production of solar modules. This role supports safe, efficient operations with minimal downtime across preventive maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and equipment reliability activities.

Pay

$24 – $37 per hour, DOE

Shift
12-hour shifts (A Shift 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM or B Shift 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM) following a 4-on / 3-off rotation.

Duties

  • Perform preventive maintenance and lubrication tasks on equipment
  • Support line startups and shutdowns and assist in clearing simple machine jams
  • Replace basic mechanical components such as belts, sensors, or fittings
  • Document maintenance work performed
  • Follow lockout/tagout and safety procedures
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues
  • Calibrate sensors, photoeyes, and other control devices
  • Analyze recurring failures and recommend preventive actions
  • Collaborate with engineers to improve equipment reliability
  • Perform advanced diagnostics on PLCs, vision systems, and robotics
  • Modify or tune parameters in PLC/HMI under engineer guidance
  • Lead equipment upgrades and predictive maintenance initiatives
  • Maintain spare parts inventory and ensure critical components are stocked
  • Document detailed maintenance actions and reliability reports

Responsibilities

  • Train Level I technicians
  • Assist in work order prioritization
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior technicians

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Technical certificate or associate degree preferred
  • Experience in equipment maintenance, mechatronics, or industrial automation
  • Strong troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to use tools and diagnostic instruments
  • Understanding of safety programs including lockout/tagout, confined space, and PPE compliance
  • Familiarity with PLCs, sensors, and automated production systems preferred
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and overtime as required
