Job Summary
The HSE manager will assist with the implementation, facilitation, and maintenance of the HSE management system while supporting regulatory compliance and program performance. This role also leads HSE personnel and facility support, conducts training, investigates incidents, and supports emergency preparedness activities.
Pay
$130,000 per year
Shift
1st shift: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Duties
Assist with the implementation, facilitation, and maintenance of the HSE management system under the direction of the HSE Director
Support ISO 14001 and OHSAS 45001 compliance efforts
Facilitate focus on HSE activities through internal HSE committees and participation in industry-related events
Provide ongoing communication to management regarding HSE program performance and recommended proactive or corrective actions
Investigate accidents to determine causes and recommend preventive measures and program revisions
Inspect worksites and prepare reports of findings with recommendations for corrective actions
Observe workers to determine compliance with HSE policies and procedures
Maintain knowledge of jurisdictional, company, and client HSE regulations
Provide and develop technical HSE training aimed at regulatory and procedural compliance
Conduct HSE management training for supervisory and management personnel
Assess HSE program performance and identify trends through data analysis
Manage emergency preparedness program activities, including the continuity of operations plan
Responsibilities
Lead and evaluate HSE personnel and facility support
Supervise employees
Support performance oversight of HSE-related functions
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
Five years of experience in a manufacturing environment related to EHS program management
Extensive industrial background, including experience working with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies
Previous experience supervising employees
Strong working knowledge of HSE regulations and requirements including ISO, EPA, OSHA, and DOT
Working knowledge of HSE management systems
Experience in manufacturing and the oil, gas, or petrochemical industries preferred
Knowledge of safety management, risk assessment and reduction, machinery and process safety, industrial hygiene, loss prevention, ergonomics, and occupational health
Excellent presentation, training, and communication skills, both written and verbal
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Willingness to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment while managing multiple assignments with strict deadlines and occasional travel
Ability to collaborate with and influence others who may have conflicting priorities or agendas
Skilled in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
