Job Summary
The inside upholsterer is responsible for building the interior shape and comfort of upholstered furniture by applying foam, padding, and other materials to furniture frames. This position plays an important role in creating the finished shape, appearance, and quality of each piece.

$16 – $18 per hour, DOE
Job Details
- Apply foam, padding, and other upholstery materials to furniture frames.
- Form and shape seat backs, arms, and the exterior contours of upholstered furniture.
- Work with a variety of materials, including loose fiber stuffing, cotton, felt, foam, and other padding materials.
- Read and follow work orders, production instructions, and specifications.
- Determine the appropriate materials and techniques needed for each workpiece based on work orders and prior experience.
- Use hand tools and powered tools to cut, shape, smooth, position, and secure upholstery materials.
- Ensure materials are properly positioned and secured to create the desired shape and appearance.
- Inspect work throughout the process to ensure quality, consistency, and attention to detail.
- Communicate effectively with co-workers and other members of the production team.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and production standards.
