KP Staffing is now hiring load builders for a company in Round Rock, TX!
Job Summary
The load builder will perform routine loading and unloading of materials within a yard or work site and assemble load packages onto trucks for delivery to customer job sites.

$16 – $17 per hour

Duties
-
Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trucks, or customer vehicles
-
Install strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage during transit

Build and balance loads based on customer orders and delivery vehicle capacity
-
Read work orders and follow oral instructions to determine materials to be moved or loaded
-
Move materials to and from storage areas using hand trucks, electric dollies, forklifts, or other equipment
-
Open containers, units, slings, and loads using appropriate hand tools
-
Attach identifying tags or labels to materials and containers
-
Follow all safety procedures and participate in required safety meetings

Perform other assigned duties
Qualifications

High school diploma or GED and at least three months of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Forklift operator certification required

Knowledge of product weight, shape, and handling requirements

Ability to read and write to complete work orders and labeling tasks
-
Manual dexterity and ability to use simple hand tools
-
Knowledge of safety procedures related to forklift operation and materials handling

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written and oral instructions
-
Ability to count and verify items against prepared lists
-
Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 80 pounds

Ability to perform physical tasks including climbing, lifting, pushing, and kneeling
-
Ability to work in a production or yard environment with exposure to temperature changes, dust, equipment noise, mechanical parts, and other industrial conditions
