Job Summary
As a Mechanical Assembly Technician, you will assemble, install, and test electrical and plumbing systems for commercial and industrial water treatment equipment. You'll work from electrical schematics, engineering drawings, and work instructions to ensure products meet quality, safety, and performance standards. This is a hands-on role that requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and experience with electrical and plumbing assembly.
Schedule and Pay Rate
1st Shift: Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Pay:$21.00 – $23.00 per hour, depending on experience
Overtime: May be required based on business needs. Advance notice will be provided whenever possible.
Job Responsibilities
Assemble mechanical, electrical, and plumbing components using engineering drawings and work instructions
Read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints
Install electrical components, including switches, breakers, transformers, and sensors
Pull, route, and terminate high- and low-voltage wiring
Assemble PVC, CPVC, and stainless-steel piping systems
Measure, cut, join, and secure piping using proper fittings and techniques
Inspect completed assemblies for proper fit, alignment, and leaks
Perform electrical testing, troubleshooting, and functional testing
Verify completed work meets quality standards and specifications
Document test results and report any defects or non-conformances
Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a clean work area
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical assembly, electrical assembly, plumbing, or a related technical field
Strong mechanical aptitude
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and assembly drawings
Experience using hand tools and power tools
Knowledge of commercial plumbing and electrical layouts
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Dependable with excellent attention to detail
Must successfully complete background screening and any required pre-employment testing
Steel-toed boots required
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 pounds
Ability to move throughout a manufacturing facility
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety shoes, hearing protection, and safety glasses
